Well, I am now busy deciding what my first big project is going to be, now I am up and running welding 
Got the ok from the Boss that she likes the Expedition type roof racks, so going to have a go at making one, as certainly can't afford the £500 + asking price
Have settled on this type of design...
but without all the bars etc in the middle part - maybe just a few or sheet metal.
My request for help comes from members already with roof racks, as I am trying to work out how much tubing I will need.
I have been quoted £12.50 for 6 meter lengths of 16mm steel tubing with 1.5mm wall, so was thinking maybe 4 to get me going - only thing is min order of at least 2 so I doubt I will be able to go back for just one more to 'finish it off'.....
So ideally, I would just like to know the lengths and widths to give me an idea please.
