I take it you mean inside if so I took my roof liner recently to do some work on the sunroof and fit a dog guard, fairly straight forward job lay the back seats down interior light ,handles, trim off an hour or so to do
I don't remember any part being stuck though

Thanks for the reply.
No, the part that has come un-done, or sort of "bellowed" is the liner you speak of's liner. It's just the cloth part. Not the whole roof insulation padded part, just the cloth that covers that.
From the rear part of the sunroof well to the tail gate is whats now bellowing.

Ouch, that sounds like something I don't really fancy. I'm over the boarder, Portugal, and the day it happened wasn't really that hot nor was the P38 in the direct sun. The only thing I think could have caused a problem was that we had the upper tailgate open all avo to keep the inside a tad cooler and the wind which was a bit string was blasting in from the rear.

rip it all out and spray glue some bright pink shag pile to the roof...

Heck, now it's starting to hurt. Think it will be the pink shag pile for sure.

got the exact same problem with the front, the material has come away from the main liner but also the actual whole headlining is starting to sag!!!
ive heard of people just taking it out then retrimming it, make sure you scrap all the old glue off before applying the new material, heres a few links for the material and the price of a brand new lining:

When i bought my P38 in about 2001/2 it was Ex police (1998) and they had cut a few holes in the head lining for their lights etc. So after having paid to have all the holes welded and the roof re sprayed, at great expense i also bought a genuine LR lining. By about 2008 it was sagging real bad in the back and starting in a few places at the front. Just recently i pulled it back out and had it re covered. The foam had turned to dust and most the 200 or more cost was due to scraping this off.
I also have a 2003 L322 and note that this now also has some areas where the cloth is sagging away from the backing.
Seems an inherant problem to me.

This is a very well known Classic problem. It seems Land Rover didn't improve things with the P38 or, it would appear the L322. Heat seems to be the accellerant in all the above but no doubt it'll happen to us all eventually in chilly blighty.

The other slightly cheaper thing to do which im going to shortly do on my classic is to strip all the old stuff off then spray it with stone chip guard then grey primer! my friend has done it to his and it gives quite a good texture/finish! Will double check on the stone guard part 1st tho as not 100% sure thats what he used.
