I have just finnished recovering my roof lining. The car is a 200Tdi 1993 the roof lining is the factory fitted lining.

A few months ago I bought a used roof console so I could fit a radio/cd up there.

Now, having finnished covering the lining and offering the two together it is apparrent that there is no way a radio is going to fit correctly in the console. Reserch shows me that the console is designed for the TD5 on, which has a different design lining.

Has anyone fitted one of these consoles to a 200Tdi. If so did you get a radio in and how?

I've fitted one to my TD5 and even with the small TTi9000 cb radio, it was still pretty tight. I'd imagine finding a radio that'll fit without cutting a little out of the headlining behind the console.

I've been having a rethink on this. It is obvious that this console isn't going to fit without some modification, spacers etc. So last night I was looking around the net for some alternetivs.

Got inspiered and have been in the workshop (Ok, the wifes sewing room) and first part of the roof console/pod is on the table. I'll put this in a new post in projects section.
