Would I be right in assuming that the bars from the rear to the roof are there as a safety feature due to the FL having a removable top?

If this is the case, as I've no intention of having the top off, would there be any reason why I can't remove these bars?

Linda.

It's just a roof rack for carrying stuff....

You can remove them with out any issue. They make good money if you want to sell them unless you are near me and then they are only worth a tenner!

:D

Why would you want to remove them? I think they look great and have been scouring ebay for months for a reasonably priced set. Some hope!

But if they do come off - Remember who was nice to you in the Introduce yourself section..............;)

Think we are in the same boat....... I agree they look much better with them on.

Saw a FL today without the roofbar, yep, you're right, doesn't look right. Sorry guys but my roofbars are staying where they are. I might even take the top off (cars, not mine ha ha) & stand in the back holding onto the bars like I've just won a motor race lol.

When I first got my freelander it was minus roof rails , and was one of the first items I got , C/W roof bars , worth every
penny:D
