Hey Folks,

I've been asked by my elderly neighbour , who owns a 2004 D2 and not very computer literate to put up a post on his behalf.

He has the G4 Roof Bars and has noticed the roof lining is wet, a closer inspection confirmed the roof bar gaskets are the issue.

Has called the local Stealers , who say the Roof Bar gaskets are obsolete and would not give out part numbers. Can anyone help auld Hamish with part numbers ?

There was also the possibility of using a sealant adhesive around the base of the bars and then setting the bars in place , what is the best adhesive to use for this and one that won't damage the paintwork , can anyone recommend sealant?

Been advised no TigerSeal as its hellish to remove if required to do so.

TIA

I just user PU sealant on the extended roof bars on my old 2001 D2, it waa the rear mounts lesking on mine
You have to fully remove then apply sealant then refit, not just squirt around the edges
I would assume some decent quality bathroom silicone sill do the job, be easyish to remove if need be

How do the G4 roof bars differ from the standard ones i.e. are the gaskets different?

And if you want OEM gaskets the standard ones are available from your local Land Rover dealer for £8.22 each less any discount you can talk them into.
