alright guys, had a bit of an accident on saturday evening, was driving along a road near my house and the back tried to shoot past me on a corner, i over corrected and ended up steering onto the verge on the other side, through some bushes, nose dived into the road and then flipped my 90 onto its side.

Luckily i was pretty much unhurt, just a couple of scratches and even more luckily there was nobody else in the car/no other cars involved. my boss came up with his defender and trailer and winched it back onto its wheels.
i then drove it onto the trailer. police said it looked like the top gear hilux as it was being driven up the ramp!

Anyway Ive had a look at it with my mate whos a mechanic, and although the bodywork is pretty shagged he reckons the chassis is straight so altho its never gona look pretty, i mite be able to get it on the road again.

I only really need to get it on the road for a few months whilst i save up for my next 90!!! after that it can be resigned to my cousins farm or similar.

Fortunately i still have a truckcab roof courtesy of trewy, so the roof isnt an issue. i will straighten out the bumper and bullbar, and straighten out the smashed wings front and back.

However, i desperately need a windscreen AND windscreen frame. I also need a pair of front radius arms as the passenger side one is slightly bent. both steering rods are bent but i should be able to straighten them out, or if not replace them.

so if anybody has any of these bits or know where i could get them, please let me know!

cheers

ouch! Glad you are ok, :) hope that windscreen rubber is ok! I have a spare front radius arm if you want it, and also a steering drag link and maybe also the tracklink also, I also have a hardtop rear door also, but i see you are truck-cabbing it.

I have odd axle spares see, from the disco, just let me know.

Fooking ell!! and dint fergit to put noo thunders on the list of parts yer'll never get them clean again..

Well thas impressive.......glad your ok.....You might need the larger sized bottle of T-cut on that

That's a MESS!

I wouldn't try to straighten steering components tho'. They dun't cost that much & you'd be better off just replacing them. You wouldn't want ter have an accident now would yer?

Si that is nasty :( hindsight an orl that.

Let me know if the parts even come close to 950 :D doubt it though! maybe i shouldnt have bothered?!?

well the repairs are going ok, 3 out of 4 tyres had come off the rims, and one of the rims was badly bent. fortunately none of the tyres themselves where damaged, so i got the damaged rim hammered back out and all 3 tyres refitted so its now sitting on 4 fully inflated tyres again!

Looks like ive managed to source a windscreen with frame and pair of radius arms through my local off road club.

took off both the steering rods today, but struggling to get the bent panhard rod off. the chassis end came off easy enough, but the axle end wont come off. managed to loosen the nut as much as it will come, but the bolt wont budge. it will turn, but wont come out cos the bush is ****ed i think.

any tips?

Try getting someone to turn the bolt with a ratchet while you bash the end of it with a large hammer. Worked well for my radius arm bushes.

had to cut it out with a hacksaw in the end. painfully slow but got there in the end!

cant claim on insurance nobber cos im 3rd party, but i would bother if fully comp anyway.

at my age (~20) ncb is very important!

Fookin' hell Chris... lucky escape there mate! Glad you ain't hurt mate and all the best for the rebuild - pity I've moved or I'd have been able to give you a hand
