You may kill me for asking this question, but here it goes :D

After seeing many rock crawling videos on YouTube, I instantly liked it. I'm not looking for anything too extreme, but does anyone know anywhere you can do rock crawling style off road in the UK? After searhcing it in google, all I get is fookin remote controlled cars. But dont worry chaps, I still like usual mud flinging :)

Thanks

They have a small rock crawl at whitworth (cowm) I had a go the other day and made it through, although I won't be doing it again. Loads of loud bangs, bottoming out, jagged edges hitting tyre sidewalls......just felt like I was giving my landy a beating for no good reason. Rather keep to the mud myself but each to their own, just expect it to get expensive. Lol.

Hehe, yeah Stanage Edge was my first attemt to do it, but I went there and it wer closed :( :(
Yeah rock crawling can be pretty tough, its reall important to get the right lines - and to have guards underneath. I will have a look into the others you have suggested (some of them anyway :D) Generally to do some more serious rock crawling you need to have a more built vehicle, ie lockers and stuff. Not that i do yet, but I plan to make many changes in the future.
Thanks

Couple of quarries near us have rock-crawling sections, Metheringham certainly has, but you have to be in the local club to use them .. another but is that they aren't often open for testing or playing, so you'd probably also have to enter a trial and hope there are sections including the rocks, but that situation may have changed, not been 'in the clubs' for a few years now!

Look for Lincs Landrover club, and Buxton club.

As you're near Peterborough there is a small section of large rocks in the Yarwell Quarry off road course - it is open this Sunday.

Yeah i first thorught the Lake Distrcit, but the local bobble hats are really getting ****ed off and many have been closed, including the famous Stanage Edge and I think Chapel gate. Anyone know some other similar good ones up there?
