Well my rangie has come to an end (not by my choice but some coward scumbags)
From not having a clue about them iv learned alot through here more people in the know here then the landy dealers.
I got her cheep and on the road out of despration for a motor after the engine dying in my old vw van.
over the past 12k she's always needed a bit of tlc and if i knew my last drive of her would be 145back from hospital and too my girlfriends house last night well id have taken a detour round the country.
She was a little rough and on coils so not as pure as 90% of the others on here but even still the red devil was my girlfriends way of getting her confidence and learning to drive (and to be hers by that time) since its upto towing two clydsdales and a trailer. She's draged stuff through fields towed an alot done everything ever asked of it. Bar a stinky fusebox which i fiddled with and broke and a flat battery and a gearbox pipe going pop she's never left me stranded. Well shes been a cracking motor and will be missed.
a big big thanks to folks that have helped me out on here cheers for helping me keep the old girl going as long as i did.

Rip n514bfl you were a little legend

To this stomach turning sight

Id have another in a heartbeat. It wasnt perfect but i always took a 2nd glance wherever i parked it. Enjoyed driving it. Looked forward to going out in it. The girlfriend liked it as it was auto and since it was her father that had it before she had drove it about farm so made sense to build her confidence and let her have it for farm and back and still somthing that cleans up nice and is fancy if needs be

 sad news looked like you were really enjoy the rangerover experience, scumbags is to good a name for them.

I did i loved my old strange rover as it got called. Well vans insured so mot and il be in that for a while. 24.10 a month oppose to 143 for the rangie a month i might end up with a car or something more sensible (but thats why i had the p38 not to be sensible but because i could) who knows take it as it comes. I can list my most reliable motors 1 a 99 plate mondeo with 200k on it. A 2002 saxo vtr 140k on it when it died and in 3rd a p38 haha

Were the others RR's too? Eco loonies getting militant maybe ...

Sorry for your loss :(

Alastair

That was my first thought. Could be the work of some yoghurt knitting, fart sniffing, tree hugging, loonies. What about the pollution they have caused from the fire and the disposal of the vehicle, the other thing that riles me about a lot of these eco mentalists is the clapped out beetle vans and cars they drive around in which probably pump out more sh!t than our Rangies. Rant over. Oh it could have just been the work of the local chav's but I like to blame the Eco's.

I was in a pterol one time and some yogurt knitter in a Toyota Pious had the gall to make comment about driving such a climate damaging vehicle..

Despite the fact that the 'Pious' has a short operational life, compared to say a 15 year old RR, that the open cast mines created to source the materials to make the batteries (with a 5-6 year life) do more damage to the environment etc etc.

they just got the response 'it's LPG you ####wad!'

However despite this, when it's snowing who do they look for to tow them out of ditches when stuck ?

And yes.. when you consider that the vehicle, after 15 years, it still going strong, isn't rusting away.. so lets see how many 'pious-mobiles' are still on the roads after years, with all those rescources used to manufacture it.

CC-nutjobs are as the expression says.. watermelons. Green on the outside, red on the inside.

I can't even have the parts off it now! :)

Grrr the taillights and towbar are in tact. Id have rather drove down and give you it for feck all then to see that soul destroying didnt look much but i did alot too and with it my girlfriend is devastated too shes lost out more then me
