Looking at their website part numbers ending with 'P' are described as aftermarket which says 'pattern part' to me.
Those with 'P1' ending are described as by an OEM maker.
Land Rover ones are described as 'genuine' & I'd expect them to be in a LR logo'd bag or box.
Be interesting to know what impeller type would be on a genuine LR dealer supplied item. Assuming it wasn't something in a blue box....

I did read on one of the BMW parts sites that early ones on the BMWs were plastic & disastrous & subsequent ones were a composite material. Metal ones also available but not as genuine or OEM parts.

They will only be in a Land rover box after being taken out of the container from China and put in one.
 
You are correct Grrrrr. No point in trying to send it back. Better use it as paper weight or a door stopper and never buy from Rimmer brothers , again.
Assuming you haven't already ordered the replacement be sure to specify that it must be a metal impeller & no substitution is acceptable.

There's all sorts of stuff in genuine brake pads. It is more of an art than a science mixing the stuff up. Nut shells was one ingredient IIRC.

Maybe but cow shit wasn't. Boeing had thousands of counterfeit Hi-Loks in stock at one time. They hold aeroplanes together.

They use a lot of glue now, and they bought second hand parts from hijacked aircraft that had been bombed
 
Recently I bought genuine " Lemforder" suspension arms with bushes for my Audi A4 from a German supplier. I assumed it's real Lemforder , German made, but in the box it said 'Made in India'. Knowing Indian quality, ----tpart is better I would say.

On the plus side, after my Lemforder drag link bushes started to fail in under 2 years they immediately replaced it with a brand new one for me at no cost and that one has been perfect since. Not sure I'd get that from 'tpart.
