Newby sticking oar in......It is remarkable how little fight we have seen from the likes of land rover and other 4x4 manufactuers. I know that staff in land rover dealership near me are starting to fear for their jobs, specially in sales as more and more repeat customers have declared that they won't be getting another 4x4 as the endless aggro is getting to much. Having see what the gree tossers where doing at the other end of the country,( sticking anti 4X4 leaflets under 4X4 wiper blades ) I suggested to the local plod that if it was my vehicle, I would regard it as unlawfull interference with a motor vehicle. I received this reply. Reckon it should be included as they could easily damage a wiper blade.
' Thank you for your e-mail. This group has been active all around the
country, not just in Bristol. The offence you mention of vehicle
interference is contrary to the Criminal Attempts Act of 1981 and requires
an intention to steal the vehicle or to take and drive it away. There is no
criminal offence to cover the act of someone placing a piece of paper under
a windscreen wiper, as happens many times a day with advertising leaflets.
The police were present on the 27th January 2007 at College Green, but
merely to ensure there was no breach of the peace. '
