Ah.

Has anyone managed to get the EAS Unlock software running under Win 7? I thought there was a problem with it....

Whilst Win7 is *supposed* to be OK....you will have better luck with XP....

The drivers for Win7 are naff....

You can emulate an XP environment on Win7 using either WinOnWin mode in Win7 or VMWare does a Virtual XP to run on Win7....

Best see if you have an old Laptop or even an old 'box with XP on and try that...

Andrea, if your having problems with the usb/serial lead, try un-installing the drivers for the adaptor lead then do a search for any program folders including empty folders, driver references left over and delete them as well.

Then plug the adaptor lead into the laptop, when asked to install the drivers let the laptop search/update from microsofts web site, this sometimes will install a system update that allows the latest adaptor driver to install/work

A long shot I know but has been known to work.

The EAS suite runs under Microsoft Netframework so should run on all versions of windows. I've tested it on XP and Vista, will test it on Win 7 soon. The usual problem is with USB to RS232 adaptor drivers and some of the USB to RS232 adaptors do not have the necessary signals, like RTS is missing. I'm looking into the possibility of doing a USB version of the cable at the moment:)

know I'm going to sound daft here, but have you had the car running and just tried to adjust the suspension from the dashboard switch? Everyone seems to be going in very complex directions-It sounds like an airbag leak initially, I'd just get original type from paddock or similar, they're cheap enough and easy to fit, but do the lot, then you know it's not them and they're going to need replacing soon anyway if they haven't been done. My 4.6 sometimes blows itself up to full height, but a press on the dash button sorts it out. beware BMW 5 series, if they ram you from the rear under power when you're stopped with brakes on it hurts. Good luck, Dave
