Hi all
I was driving my mums FL1 TD4 and when you get up to speed theres a droning noise that gets louder and quieter. If you accelerate it stops but if you keep it at speed it just gets louder and quieter in a rhythm. Only very slight vibration.Barely noticed it.Its a 2006 with 70k km on it
Any ideas

have u had the wheels balanced, is there any vibration on the steering wheel or odd wear on the tyres

also i once had this vibration, drone noise at 50 mph, any faster or slower and the noise wasnt there , found it to be the front propshaft cv y bearing

if u get underneath the car and see if there's any movement on the propshaft

hope that may help abit

Could be the VCU front support bearing.

Had the same on my old td4 at easter. No vibration no judder just a drone that came and went. Took the props of but still had it. Turned out to be a seized brake calliper, replaced that sorted it.

another thing to check when i get home.thanks for that. i'm just hoping its not vcu/ird related
