Hi Folks
Bought my 3rd Landy today defender 90 county TD5 and found this Forum so straight in with a question if that's ok.
Looking at the Rhino roof rack with roller and it looks ok for my use, just a Kayak and a few bits so question is do they rust out at all as don't want any stains down the side,
your thoughts please.

Good question because at £390 for the 110 version it’s a bargain. Anyone got one?

Indeed. I was looking at them but got a Masai at a good price second hand instead. It’s now off the car being de-rusted and painted

would you recommend a Masai ?
I’m not sure it comes with rollers which you’d want for kayak. It fits lovely and seems made well enough. It doesn’t really bother me that it has rusted up a bit. All surface and wire wheeled off. Will be getting corroless this weekend. I’d buy it again for sure. I got mine for a decent price but think they’re quite expensive new

I like how it follows the roof lines nicely if you get me

I have rhinos on both my vans. Powdercoated black and both rusty at the joints within 16months and now 3years in rusty stains down the sides of the van

Looks good
Have you got a ladder with that or do you manage ok without?

no mate and I should really get one as I balance on the back or tire when using it. Only usually has fishing stuff on it so can lift it all overhead onto it then arrange once I’m stood on a wheel

ARB, safety devices, front runner etc all more than I’d ever pay. Think mines 600 new. I’d go masai and just cover it with some lanoguard or similar and you’d be golden. Alternatively, look out on eBay for one of the above

Hi and welcome!

I’ve got a Brownchurch galvanised roofrack on my 90 and it is rust-free. But it’s somewhat traditional looks aren’t to everyone’s taste, especially with a newer Defender.
