Possibly true. Guess it depends which frequencies are free for auxilary equipment. Bet there's some stuff on the same frequency. Of course, the country is so damn big and spread out the chances of interference are probably smaller anyway!

The frequency used for the FOB in Yank land is also, as in the UK used for many other applications, so the risk of interference ought to be the same. However, although the FOB design is the same, the frequency is 315Mhz so it is possible that the lower frequency gives better discrimination. A couple of minutes on Google confirms that interference is a problem on some marques.
