Hi!

I got a TD5 90 -02 and I would like to get the 3rd brake light working (needed for MOT).

As the connections to the back window heating element is all broken off, I thought the easiest way would be to re-wire the brake light. Not overly fussed about getting the rear defroster working at this time.

Would anyone be able to tell me which wires I need to extend up to the light? I got one wire on one side, but two on the other. Its been like this since I got it, but it do not look like any other connectors or wires are missing.

I would be very grateful for any help

Get a test light and see which wire comes on with the brake light, extend it up to the bulb holder and earth the other side.
Otherwise you could probably find a loom connector near the lower brake lights and follow the wire.
Connectors look a bit green.

Sensible and nice to get it working obviously, but my Alfa got an MoT with the high brake light marked as optional - not working in the advisories.

Not sure why because that doesn't fit the rule - which is - if you tell the tester it's disconnected he must give you the benefit of the doubt and pass it. Yes, even if it's factory fit.

Thanks guys!

Going off the wiring diagram, perhaps the easiest is to just go with pin 2 and 6 on C1102.
