more problems with this thing, had a previous fault being ignition coil kept blowing, it was frayed wires which i have cut out and re joined, also fitted new leads and a new coil pack, there is an intermitent fault, the revs if i floor it when parked dont go past 3k without me coaxing it, and when it does it dosnt seem happy or hold the revs steady
also abs lights on and says traction failure, i`m thinking abs sensor ? , this thing is getting close to being broke for parts now
costing to much and never running for a month without new faults

I'm a diesel man myself, BUT, when did you last change your fuel/air filters? Did you do a proper job re. the wiring ?:)

never touched the fuel filter ever and have been running it vvv low on fuel, hmmm i wonder if its starvation. air filter is a kand n induction, wiring i re done today but not convinced, may need take all plugs out and check another coil hasnt failed again

If you have never done the fuel filter go for that first, especially if it's not misfiring :D

Try the Brake light switch

Check the battery terminal leads. My 99 4.6 HSE used to throw up ABS and Traction Control Failure messages all the time. Knew my leads did the job but weren't exactly snug so replaced the battery (which was on the way out anyway), got everything tightened up and not had an error message since.

Goof luck....and keep the faith!

What year is the car? is a Gems or Thor motor? If it's the later Thor motor don't go wasting your time looking for a fuel filter they ain't got one, not sure about the gems. Fact is you are going to be going around in circles unless you get this plugged in and see what's happening. Failure to rev could be all manner of things, air mass meter, air leak or duff Lambda. As for the traction control fault a low battery will throw that one and you do know the ABS light doesn't go out until teh cars doing 5 mph approx?

Not revving, check the crank sensor at the back of the block on the n/s. Mine was doing the same and it was loose. And plus 2 on the battery charge for the abs and tc fault. Mine did that today in the queue for the car wash and I had the radio on for about half an hour.

cheers guys

the fault it seems it number 3 ht coil, as i was working my way through disconnecting the leads starting up and seeing what lead/coil was affecting the engine, well had the 2 leads from this coil un plugged and no difference at all so no spark, i`m going to swap the individual coil tomorrow and hope this helps, the battery keeps going flat maybe due to not much use its only a year old the battery so hope its just with it sitting.
The abs light still stays on even when driving, i`ll check all conections, would abs light be an mot failure ?
The rear brake lights work i checked them there.
Was a teeny bit of oil on one of the plugs, see my biggest worry is a slipped liner,
