When in for its MOT I was told my reversing lights which are not working are not necessary to pass an MOT. Seems a bit scary to me. Any way I decided to inspect and try and find out why. Fuse and globes are ok but seems no voltage to the revering lights, I suspect the switch that must be somewhere neat the gear lever at the gearbox. How easy is it to get to?

usually the switch is in the gear box which it is just checked for you it says be prepared for oil loss and it is on the bottom of the gearbox hosing hope this helps

Reverse light switch is shown on this photo - low down on the gearbox facing the front of the car
