Hello,

I've got a 2006 Td5 and it won't let me select the reverse gear while the engine is running.

When the engine is off it lets me select every gear but as soon as you start the engine you can not select reverse.

Any ideas?

baulk ring and gear dog teeth are poor ,quite common on rev gears, its the one gear that usually needs changing, clutches never fully clear but amount of drag varies from car to car ,reducing the drag might help a little

Is this something that can "happen overnight" or is it something which could have been a problem for a while and just developed?

Have a quick check of the gearbox oil level - you have nothing to loose, well except for the cost of oil if it is low - and then the question why?

Just had this myself, bled the clutch made no difference, then found out the pedal itself is adjustable! Set the pedal up properly now it's perfect.
