Thanks. It's nice to see it being fixed as apposed to a recon being fitted costing £1600+. Always good to see a specialist doing a good job at a reasonable price too. It's a cost know one wants to pay but these things happen. We normally go down the route of electrical checks and oil changes unless there's anything physically wrong. If that doesn't show up the fault then it needs taken apart. Welcome to the failed Jatco club. ;)

Have to admit if (and probably when) mine fails again I would have a go at fixing it. Perhaps a little different for me as I've already had a recon fitted when the last one was beyond repair. Also I've taken my spare apart too. With mine being a v6 the cost of running v expensive repairs means if it plays up big time then economically it would be daft to chuck more money at it when a replacement would be more economical and pay for itself over time.

Wow that's cheap. Does that include fitting?

Yes fitting and the warranty. It was half the price of a local garage. Seemed really nice people as well, as the mechanic said they specialise in gearboxes and that's the bulk of their work. They had mine done in just over a day.
