Because I have the landy I get to park on the car park out side the office a) because its too steep for anyone else to brave and b) when visitors drop their car off the slope and into the wall of the building I am on hand to pull them back out. But....:mad: recently in order to reverse back up the slope i find i have to rev like hell till it slowly starts to move or just drop it into low box and it comes up just fine. So is the reverse in the high ratio sh***d? Thought that yeller feller would have a comment on that

No is the answer to your question, there is only 1 reverse gear in the gearbox, and if it works fine in one range then the gear itself is ok, the transfer box doesn't care whether it's in forward or reverse.
I would guess that maybe you have an automatic and the torque converter is causing your problem in reverse, more info please.

I think you have been feeding your visitors with to many cakes ans sticky buns so when they get back in there cars they are heffers!

Sorry yes it is an automatic box.... so torque converter problem then ?
Bugger ! Damn !! Spit !!!!
better see if I can get some funds together and get the whole thing serviced, there is now a list of minor problems with this thing.....

Not necessarily, could still be something like handbrake, but I would expect noise or vibration etc from that.

Can't immediately think why torque converter would struggle only in reverse to be honest, let me think on it :p

Try the Stall test from RAVE manual - will test Torque Convertor for you;

ahhhh welll... maybe if the tacho worked.......... hasnt done since i got it, nor has the horn for that matter none of the books deal with a centre pad which doesnt have a horn push because the whole thing acts as a horn push ... so I dont know how to get it off.....

The tacho runs off the alternator (terminal W), either you have a bad connection there or you may need a new alternator.
