Hi. Bought a really nice D1 from a dealer, reasonably local to me which made the deal ever more appealing. It's a really fine example going by the research I have done so far.

Tonight was first time I'd reversed in the dark and encountered a fault with the reverse lights in the sense that they don't stay on unless you hold the gear stick in place. Seen some threads on here that suggest its a ball ache to fix so contacted the seller to request he sort it for me under warranty.

He's basically not interested in fixing it because it's apparently "wear and tear" and "one of those Landy things".

He then said he "would put a new switch in but it won't make a difference."

Any thoughts on what I should do, he did say I could just take the car back for a refund but I'd really rather not.

Surely it's not right to have to drive with one hand on the gear stick when reversing to ensue lights stay on.

easy enough fix once youve removed console, it is wera on the ramp on gear selector yoke either get a new yoke or weld groove up and grind/file smooth

Thanks for the quick reply but I'm a newbie. I guess from what your saying, its not too big a deal to fix. Seen the replacement switches on eBay, kinda tempted to give it a bash myself so at least I know what's been done and to what standard. Hopefully, a good standard with the help from this forum.
