hi ppl, right , after noticing that the reverse lights on my dads freelander(1997 diesel) were not working , I did the relevant checks, (bulbs and voltage at lights ) and came to the conclusion that the switch was knackered,
so £10 lighter at the motor factors and 20 mins later the new switch was in , only now when the ignition is on the reverse lights are on permanent regardless of the gear position?
any ideas guys before he starts to moan like all dads do ?
thanks in advance
Ian

First thing I would do is unplug the reverse switch connector to narrow it down to the switch. Remember, just because it is new does not mean it is good. (old spark plug rule) Put a circuit tester on the switch and see if it is switching.

all sorted now, seems the supplied washer was no where near thick enough, put 4 copper washers on and now works 100%
