does vehicle have to have a working reverse light for mot?
mates 90s reverse light not working and test is tom.
power to switch and out but not at bulb end.

One the fail points on mine was blown numberplate light. Was told that as fitted got work these days.

your reverse lights dont come into mot but your stop tail numberplate lights indicators headlights do rear wiper does not come into test nor do fronts if you dont have a windscreen. its a minefield the mot we have 7 mot testers at work dependent upon who gets your car for mot depends how well it does its a load of bollocks in my opinion. as long as the cars not falling to bits and is obvously going to cause inury PASS

A number plate light is part and it has to have one fitted, not if fitted. The reverse light isnt tested at all so it doesnt matter, they cant give an advisory as its simply not in the test.

Damn it, I fitted two to mine, now that work seems pointless :D
