Hi All

RR running nicely :D but only cloud (for now) is the rev counter not working at all.

Have checked the fuses, all OK.

Any ideas why the rev counter may not be working at all?

Either a pulse from the coil through a resistor or from the W terminal on the Alternator

Mines is a '92 3.9V8....... Had trouble with rev counter in the past. The problem was connection on the alternator. I'm sure you get the signal from there but someone will correct me soon if I'm wrong no doubt......

Aye, the alternator might have a W screw terminal and you might have a spade connector on the wiring. Mine was like that...check and see.

Is your ignition warning lamp working correctly, and the alternator charging the battery?

Mine had a poor connection to the ignition warning light in the instrument panel, which stopped the 12v exciter feed to the alternator. The alternator then didn't generate power or the rev-counter signal.

Pete
