I agree it’s all down to taste, I’m not doing anything radical.
Over the years I’ve owned lots of different land rovers, range rovers, a disco and a few swb series.
This is a v8 auto 90. It was built by the previous owner from an 1990 Range Rover.
He did a nice job.
My plan is to take the roof off for the summer and have it a a toy to run round in.
Roof back on for the winter, might not get the roof off this year mind.
I m after a sort of updated NAS 90 look.
Just getting all the parts together.

V8 Auto Ninety is a very nice drive. You will enjoy that. :)

It’s fun and loud.
Needs a bit of tlc.
Just in the process of fitting a stainless sports exhaust.
Moving the gear shifter to a better position.
It came with rx8 heater electric seats that need fitting.
Half way there with them.
Doors are shot so got some series doors to go on.
Found a military roll bar and hoops.
All jobs to do.

Got a few jobs done on my 90, been a long road and still near the start.
Seats in, very comfy. Exhaust done, what a faf, didn’t fit properly. A few mods to make it fit.
Disco2 shifter fitted.
Drivers door fitted, needs painting.
Today’s job was to swapping back to standard height springs from 2” lift springs, guess what stayed the same height.
Rear springs where definitely shorter than the old ones, but the front springs looked to be the same length.
Do you think it will settle ?

Interesting that You posted here. Just 30 min ago I was driving back home and thinking that I have to try the 2 inch lift after all. The curiosity is killing me.. All in the name of looks (fitting 285/75r16). Also planning to try the light load version from Terrafirma, despite all the criticism I've heard reading through the threads.

Hope someone will answer the question about Your rear springs. Can You by any chance post a photo from the side to see how noticeable is that difference in height?:)

You could have had softer springs fitted (than your replacements) even though they were 2" taller, or they might well just have been knackerd and sagging a bit.
There are loads of different spring ratings you can get, have you got the right ones anyway?

The springs that came off where terrafirma +2” and the ones that went on where bog standard.
Still looks lifted. Currently it has 235/85r16 tyres fitted. How big would the gap between the tyre and the arch be for standard. Ie no lift?

You need to
Measure from axle bump stop to chassis for a true measurement. Tyre to arch has to many variables to be accurate tbh

I doubt you'll find a standard measure. Body configuration and weight of the vehicle will impact this. And there have been loads of different "Standard" rate and length springs over the years.

Maybe post a picture of what it looks like now. Also, did you take any before and after measurements? Or pics of the springs side by side?

Have not got measurements but here is my standard TD5 XS. With 235.85.16s

Possibly the steering rods had to be adjusted to be longer when the lift was made, and maybe a longer prop shaft(s). Is it sitting up on the rods and shafts? (others will comment if this is crap as I never done a lift myself)

This an old photo, before I swapped the springs

Those tyres look small. What size are they and what height do they measure.

I can also see cranked rear arms and I suspect castor corrected front arms and non standard shocks. All of these things could easily impact the tyre to wheel arch clearance.

Front wheelarch also doesn't look level. Is the wing bent as well?

The front wing is a little bent.
The tyres are 235 85 16
The front control arms are standard ones, the rears are castor corrected. Going to get these replaced soon.
It does ride better on the new springs
The shocks are the ones terrafirma recommended for std suspension
