I would like to Retro Fit Air Con to my 300 TDi (Late 94 L).

Is this do-able?

Are there retro fit kits for this sort of thing?

Probably need a specialist garage because of handling refridgerants - any near Edinburgh?

Else is this a dealer-only job?

Any advice appreciated.

Thanks,
Tana.

just take a look at your engine and you will see 3 bolt holes above the water pump if you have these then yes you can but you need to shop around cos prices vary alot

Cheers for the quick reply, ColinTandy.

Now, do I go to breakers or are there kits that you know of?

The web points to gas rechargers and system maintainers but not fitters or suppliers of kit.

Though having surfed around I now know that I want an intercooler and other tweaks!

Thanks,
Tana.

hi 1 of our companys in exeter were selling a full LR OE equipment for around £450.00,i brought 1 and stuck it on my car took me about 5 hours in all to remove the dash fit the condensor and fans all the pipe work wiring it in and gassing it up,i would not do without mine now,i had to buy a small extra harness as i did not have srs or abs fitted at an extra cost of £40.00,the kits are normally about £1300.00 so good value, the garage is matford landrover in exeter, im sure they will send it and as far as i know on the last memo they still had some left as they got about 400 kits hope this helps tiga

hi the kit has all the instructions and it does depend on your mech skill level a bit of wiring,i work on landys for a living but my kit was the second 1 i ever fitted the other was on a disco 2 you will need to get it gassed at a specialist though hope this helps tiga

Thanks Tigapiglet,
I was quoted c1500 pounds for a fitted system here.

450 + a day of my time < 1500

I have contacted matfords. to see if they have any left and the price.
I will report back.

I will need to check for SRS (airbag?) and ABS.

Thanks for all your help.
