300tdi fitted to my 90 with an LT77 box, as a result engine sits a bit further back so can't route air intake to filter the normal round the back of the engine way.

At the moment have a stupid boy racer filter, I would like to put the old round air filter box back in, anyone done this and have an pictures to show how the did it.

My plan was to mount the filter the same place (above injection pump) but have the pipe running round the front (I have not fan).

N Ot Done This On A Defender But Done 3 L2oo Warriors Same Way For Different Reasons Air Filter Set Up Is Same More Or Less

Spin Said Filter To Have Intake Facin Forward , Remove Locating Stud Off Bottom But Mark Dead Top Ctr Wit Chalk Or Something Like (easier To Locate It Later )
Fasten Ya Clamps , I Used A Self Tappin Screw To Stop It Spinning In Its Carriage . If Ya Have Nothing Kicking Around Ya Garage To Make Up The Pipe Length/bends To Reach The Air Intake I Used Chimney Flu Liner Pipe( Like A Corrogated Aluminium Pipe , Cheap Enough From B&q) If Over Sized Use 2 Large Jubilees To Squish It Dwn , Dont Cut It Down Its Length

i had my td swapped for a 200tdi and used the origional round air filter box.it sat too high(wouldn't drop down cuz of turbo/intercooler pipes) so i screwed a strap/bar vertical to the inner wing, cut the intake out of the box turned the intake upside down and welded it back in(this allowed the box to drop down enough to close the bonnet)held the box in place with a big jubilee clip around the box and strap, connected the old pipes back on,no probs so far.

Right OK two good plans. Thanks.

I don't think there is any way I can get it in where it used to sit as the PAS resevoir sits in that area along with all the other pipeing etc...

I will have a play about between both those plans and see what I can come up with.
