Ordering up some seat retrim kits for my Defender tonight.

Originals are grey vinyl (wrecked) but Im wanting black inside. Was thinking of just going for some black vinyl but when browsing online there seems to be quite a few different options.

And some are 2-3 times the price of the standard black vinyl kits but are still described as vinyl.

I want black and needs to be non absorbent so cloth is out but am advised some of the ones described as vinyl twill etc are actually waterproof/non absorbent.

Who's retrimmed their seats recently and what did you go for??? seems to be very few good close up photos online so would be interested to know what is popular out there?

I re-trimmed these a couple of weeks ago in techno trim.
Used britpart kits and seem good quality if a little fiddly to fit. But then I guess they all will be.

Both those kits seem very smart. Who are trackers...cant find them on google?

I had initially hoped to treat myself to a bit more luxury but I fear as the parts list is escalating I may have to limit my options so good to see the cheaper kits actually look very good indeed.

been looking at these recently as mine have some rips.

for just the base and back cover - no foam or headrest

britpart is 37 per seat
exmoortrim (trakkers) is 44

think i'd pay a bit more. if you go down the foam route then it gets a bit more pricey for exmoor.

Work vehicle and my car you see. During winter I can be in and out 10-20 times a day absolutely soaked..?And I dont mean just dripping a bit..I mean properly soaked to the skin...and often covered in thick wet mud, moss, sawdust etc.

All year round just generally grubby outside work.

I find seat covers quite annoying in a Defender so the seats have to be water proof or at least water resistant otherwise they would be a state in no time. And as I have consolidated into 1 single vehicle (couldn't afford to run 2!!) I'm trying to keep it tidy. Although at moment resembles something that was dragged from a ditch!!!

So trakkers= Exmoor!!!!

Their basic black vinyl kits dont seem too expensive foams and all included.

Forgive all my spelling mistakes - laptops away for repairs so on the tablet which seems determined to keep changing all the words I type!!!

i'd be tempted by some covers as well then. easier to take off and clean when it gets really muddy.

I've used these covers for the last 18 months to 2 years. Think they where £50 and have been great!

i wanted a bit of bling, hence 240 quids worth, i think if i was doing your kind of work, cheap full re-trim kit, foam etc and the good quality tailored seat covers.

Have a chat to the lovely lady as Sam's Trim. She will be very helpful I'm sure. I had my seats done there and asked for perforated black vinyl with diamond stitch and they looked great. I am sure she will sell you any material you want.

how much did that cost?

You may wanna sort out the seatbelt buckle lad :D

I know
Although in all seriousness, I did have a quick look for one, but everyone seems to sell them with the belts, and well theirs nowt wrong with 'em.
So don't want to pay the money for both
I actually need 2 buckles for my 90 too. Sold the spare set I had and remembered they where needed as soon as I'd posted them
Still works any way, jut the plastic cover missing off one side. Be reet (for now) :D :p

Trax it wasnt dead cheap but it had buckets in that were hopeless when I bought it. Decent secondhand seats were like hens teeth so I bit the bullet. think I paid £400 for the iseats complete with seat heaters in along with a high lid matchung cubby box . Looked the dogs danglies when done though and the heaters were brilliant!

bet it did. thanks for the reply :)

Look very smart folks! I think every set of covers I've tried for Land Rovers have been a bit 'baggy' which I found bit annoying over time. Think I will just go for the good old black vinyl as aiming for an all black cab which is just because I like black interiors and although itsattachmentsmy work truck, its also my car so eventually want it a bit nice rather than just all out utility. Especially as some weeks can be spending 30 hours driving in it.

You think the Exmoor trim black vinyl is worth the extra couple of quid compared toBritpart? Not great deal of difference in price.
