Right I'm planning on respraying my 110 very soon, well as soon as I get my bumper replaced from my collision with a sturdy lamppost.. But I'm hung up on three different colours, not sure wether to go for a stealthy covering of matt black, matt olive green or gloss white with black detailing.. It's a tricky one. I'm planning on doing it myself so the darker colours have been appealing to me abit more. Let me know what you think!!

Ah god that's thrown a spanner in the works, I'm mostly toying with the matt black and a lime green now.. The green is definitely sure to turn a lot of heads, which paint did you use for it? I was just looking at some in halfords?

New parts arrived today, no problem putting the corner plates and door sills on, not sure how i should fit the crossmember cover yet, should i bolt it on or is there a better method?

If your spraying it your gonna need a fair bit of paint, give Halfords a miss go to a proper automotive paint supplier. Also,do you mean MATT black or SATIN black, matt black looks hideous, satin black looks good if it's done right, but you may find it fades like mad specially in hot sunny weather.Light coloured paints hides defects a lot better, but you will need plenty of paint to cover dark green.
Have you sprayed a car before, coz it's soo easy to make a right royal mess of it??
Good luck!!

I wouldn't advise going for a matt colour, whilst it looks good at first it marks easily and holds mud, grime and oil. Satin is just as easy to apply and looks pretty similar but doesn't suffer these flaws quite so badly.

Most Nato colours are really easy to apply by spray, roller, brush, mop, dead cat etc and there is a very good guide on here about hand painting.

I am thinking of painting my satin black defender 90. I have just bought it like this and it's had a good hand roller finish, just too black and a bit aggressive for me.
I have a friend who runs his own body shop and he said the best paint to apply is white as it easily covers most flaws in the body work, by reflecting light etc.
