Has anybody in the Essex Area a pair of Rear ABS Sensors for a 1998 Disco. Brother in Law thinks he has a screwed sensor but doesn't wish to pay the price just in case, its not them. Looking for spare set someone has on the shelf or on a breaker, just to try or buy for beer tokens...

PS. If you try to remove the ABS Sensors from the axle, does this damage the sensor?

I dont know a lot about the ABS system on this vehicle, but my manual says if you remove a sensor you have to replace the seal and mounting bush. The sensor sets its own air gap when refitted, so shouldn't damage the sensor by removing it.

Im sure you can get a blink code somehow which should give you some idea of whats wrong.

Many thanks all. I am the aforementioned Brother-in-law. Will check out some of the info suggested in the earlier posts MartinBird and hopefully have a look over the weekend.
