Yes they can be spot welded in (I think mine are) But I'd just drill them out and rivet/screw back in.
Hopefully you've sorted it now anyway mate :)
 
Thanks for the offers gents - very kind. I think I'll try to get my old ones out by snipping the mesh around the welds with a set of side cutters. Think I'll try and glue them back in Aaron. Don't want to drill holes through the galv. Certainly next to an easy water inlet! :D

Not today though, bursts of occasional sunshine between very heavy rain showers. The weekend weather has been poor up here this year. In contrast, when I started the rebuild last year it was great weekend weather.

Weather here hasn't exactly been great. Not that I want hot weather, because I'm a weirdo like that :eek:
 
Just looked at my old pics and they are riveted in place
Might struggle to get them to glue in place
