Hello,
My 2013 Freelander 2 TD4 2.2 litre diesel, has dropped the bearing on the transfer case leading to the rear driveshaft. My mechanic said as a result the casing of the transfer case is damaged beyond repair, and will require another transfer case.
He doesn't source rebuilt or wrecker sourced transfer cases, only new, and I would need to source it myself.
I came accross one at a wrecker from a 2012 Freelander 3.2 lt petrol model. There are several numbers corresponding to these cases. My mechanic says the LR number is LR 040657.
Two wreckers including the one I have found above, have them listed as FOMOCO (Ford Motor Co) 7G9N7L486AB. Is this the right transfer case? And is it the same for the 3.2lt petrol and 2.2 lt diesel models?
Thanks in advance.
