cd jumps, want to replace it with a bluetooth/ipod compatable unit, still want to use steering wheel interface, have been online and asked loads of sellers about a straight swap system, some have the headunit but don't know about steering wheel bit, somebody on here must have done this and have the details on what they bought as i want to do a simple quick change, mine has no multichanger or H k either

cheers for that!

No worries! You will need that adapter but as long as the head unit is the same make as the patch lead you buy and says it is steering control compatible then you should be able to plug and play! My engine may give me head aches but audio is a doddle!

There is one other option if you see something that isn't compatible but has infra red on it. My JVC had no jack or socket output for steering wheel controls but it has got iR on it so I fitted one of these. I've run the emitter to the bottom corner of the window control panel.

I have never thought of doing that. Pretty cool even though it's a little pricey!

Yes it was a bit but I couldn't be without the steering wheel controls, it learns from the original remote control so can be used on most iR systems.
