Hi,

Any ideas for removing the circular half shaft nut from the fron hub of a series 3, without the specified ro1010 spanner, which I cant seem to get hold of.

When it came to undoing that nut on mine, im sure I used a regular socket that seemed to fit well enough, they should'nt be that tight.

Problem is that the nuts are the round type, as fitted to the 109 and later versions of the SWB (or so I'm led to believe) so it won't take a socket.

assumption is mother of all **** ups- look at it then you will know either way

I know which ones youre on about, round and castellated. I definately used a socket, I think it was the castellated part that gave the socket grip.

There's a drawing of the tool in the manual - you could probably make a simplified one with a suitable piece of pipe and a hacksaw.
