Hi,

I am looking for some replacement doors, and came across these.

DEFENDER LH PUSH BUTTON FRONT DOOR WITH GALVANISED STEEL SKIN

They are £235 excluding VAT. Ideally I would like something a little cheaper. Does anyone have any views on the ones above, and does anyone know of a cheaper new replacement door. My ones are corroded on the outside, and rusted at the bottom of the frame, so I would rather save the hassle of repairing and just get new ones.

You can pick up new steel skins for about £80 off eBay and then get the bottoms welded up. That's what my plan is. I wouldn't be looking for much less than £235 for the doors, that sounds quite reasonable to me

Hi AlbertDefender90. I have seen the skins, and have a welder, but I didn't want to bother fabricating metal etc. If there was a replacement panel for the bottom of the door, I might give that a go, but knowing my welding, if I was to fabricate something it will end up not fitting and looking crap.

When my doors go completely these are what I'll be fitting.

Try these, just cut to suit. Still cheaper than complete doors. At the end of the day you don't see the door bottoms so does it really matter what it looks like?

hi albertdefender90, looking at the other products on their website, they also sell skins and bottom door sections! I'm still not sure about welding it though!

Well you've got to learn to do it yourself at some point. My first welding on my 90 was horrendous and that was on the rear crossmember

I just went to buy the door, and the price has gone up to £270 + VAT in the space of a couple of hours. Gutted. I don't think I'll bother now.
