Hi

Just over a week ago I purchaced my first series landy. A 1972 series 3 2.25 petrol. The bulkhead has more holes than a few and I think that repair panels would be out of the question as both outer top corners, door post bottoms, above the front vents and the foot wells are roten. I have not been able to find a brand new new series bulkhead for sale at all and have heard that you can fit a td5 bulkhead. Is this correct and if so what if anything needs to be modified to make it fit???

Many thanks

Mark and his rusty landy

P.S this is going to be a galvanised chassis up rebuild which is why im not after bodging up with repair pannels what little metal remains. This ones going to be a keeper!

Try talking to Strathearn Engineering in Aucherarder. They make chasis from scratch and do a lot of fabrication... You may be lucky... You probably want to talk to Martin Jenkins 01764 663020

Dunno about a series three but a Td5 one will fit a 1989 90 with a bit of alteration, the hole for the clutch cover needs making bigger and the Td5 wiper motor bracket needs removing. I got mine off Ebay from the Land Rover place in Market Rasen Lincolnshire. While I was looking for one I saw an article in one of the magazines about someone who re-manufactured Td5 bulkheads to fit the earlier series, can't remember which ones though, they galvanized them as well.

i bought a ser 3 bulkhead in vgc. there are a few aboutm, if you get one, strip it and treat it before you fit it
