Hi all, new to the forum and relatively new to Landy ownership. I've had my 110 for a few months and today replaced the knackered rusty modular wheels with some new ones from Paddocks. Same size and offset, swapped existing tyres. Used new wheel nuts.

Now there's a new noise when turning at very low speed (like reversing out a drive). It's a loud groaning noise, almost like a cow mooing. Can feel it through the whole chassis, so don't think it's bearings.

Is this likely to be just new wheels settling in? Should I have greased the inside of the rims where they fit to the hub? Any other suggestions?

If the wheels are identical to the old ones and you've not changed anything else I don't see why this should be happening, but it might be your tyres (or one of them) rubbing on the radius arms. If that's the case it's a simple case of adjusting the lock stop bolts. It's easy to swing in to full lock when reversing off a drive.
 
Ah no. The tyre vs radius arm is an existing noise. Have knobbly tyres, so I know that one well. ;)

This new noise happens from steering just off centre, nowhere near full lock. Imagine a big tree groaning in the wind - sounds and feels like that

Should've waited til daylight and looked instead of posting online. The brake disc cowling was rubbing on the new wheels, need to grind a couple of mm off all the way round. I think it's adjustable, but no way the bolts will move in their condition.
