Right, so now I think im on the right thread, im based in Tonbridge and looking for an independent mechanic to get my disco 2 through its mot, steering box leaks oil, there's too much play on steering ball joint, manifold is loose, diesel leaks from valve behind cylinder head and fuel filter wants replacing. Can anyone help me?!

Hooray ok I suggest one not too far but I'm sure people here are closer and will know someone nearer . Before you phone make sure you can get the parts for the Window but all the other parts should be supplied from him ok

The diesel leak is a standard problem it's a fuel regulator valve on the back of the engine about 40 quid for a new one and about 2 hours to fit as its a pain in the ass
 
Anyone lookin for a project?... ive had quotes of between 1500 and 1700 for that work to be done, ive been told I cant afford it (by my heavily pregnant and opinionated wife). Looks like I am gonna have to sell.

Oh dear you not close enough for me to help if you ask politely someone might help its not really that much work your quotes are based in labour , nowadays average of £45 upwards

Thanky you forall your help, but in reality the car is to expensive for me altogether. Looks like il be goin for a van for work and something 'sensible' for private when the baby comes, and, as ive been told, my world changes for ever! On the subject of price, id be open to offers, bearing in mind its has full service history, no mot, 6weeks tax, 80000 miles, and needs the work previously mentioned doing to it. Its an 03 disco td5 XS, and quotes for the work average around 1600 quid....
