Can anyone tell us if these costs for a repair are reasonable? Recently took our Disco 4 in for new brakepads and to repair passenger door lock that was not unlocking automatically. The garage changed and charged for the pad replacement but asked us to bring it back for a new doorlock when they got the part. Took it back yesterday and they changed the lock. The bill yesterday for fixing the lock was: £60 to confirm the fault, £90 labour and £97.49 for the new part. add in VAT and the total was £297.47. Is that reasonable? At the same time they processed a recall on something to do with the crankshaft monitoring which didn't incur a charge - though presumably they must have hooked the car up to a computer to check that was working. Does that seem like a reasonable bill? (oh, and they washed the car for free while they were on).
