Do'er of stuff and the like
I occasionally get abs failure - when it does happen it happens right from the off. And disappears whenever I come back to it, so I'm suspecting a sensors being stupid. Whats the best tool to diagnose it? Hawkeye?

Not particularly fussed, its just frickin annoying seeing a light on the dash :p

Only does it once a week or so.

Switch is a two pole make and break unit. When brake is off one pole is made. When brake is pressed that pole breaks and the other pole makes. They have to cycle cleanly. If they don't you get ABS fault on dash display. Instructions in RAVE how to reset it.

Also, sometimes the sensor just needs to be pushed in all the way with some of that paste to make sure it doesn't come out again. Easy check.

.............called?G~

Some sort of white stuff on mine. According to RAVE the P38 requires:

Silicone grease: Staborags NBU - Wabco 830 502,0634
Wacker chemie 704 - Wabco 830 502,0164
Kluber GL301

It's thick white silicon grease similar to the type used on computer CPUs to heatsinks.

Thanks. I have one that slips a bit from time to time. Will get hold of some.
