Hi there,

I want to check to see if the cowboy who did my mothers car set the timing right before i start the engine after my crank pulley replacement..

The question is, the car has only done 50 miles since the last gasket was fitted... Do i really have to spend 20 quid on another one??

Thanks in advance

Tim

Hi, what makes you think it needs a new gasket.. can you let us know what landy you have and what the probs are ?

the only reason behind it is it says in the manual whenever you remove it to discard the gasket and fit a new one, all i wanna do is check the timing on it to make sure he did it right.. Thanks :)

Its a td5 disco 2 1999

I have another thread on here about the problems of late with the td5 same section entitled crankshaft pulley bolt.. some pics of the old pulley too, although they are a little large

so its the rocker gasket we're talking about... if thats tha case if it's not leaking you dont need to renew.

its got a timing chain that u cant see unless ya take off the rocker cover.. unless im wrong?
