My question is, can I remove the double top on my roof without having the nuts drop onto the back side of my soft bonnet on the interior of my truck? The flat head screw tops are accessible from the top with washers and rubber washers but are the nuts "fixed" to the inside main roof? or do I have to remove the soft "bonnet"?

Thanks

Aint yulearned nuttin, Howardo- We dont do trucks on here - go to a Scania or Era forum:rolleyes:.

Well Boomer duz, but thats Boomer for ya.

Hey Howardo,
it is a Series IIA pickup top in 88" variety. Some people call it the roof liner, head liner, interior liner, bonnet, interior roof bonnet. All of the trucks I have looked at have had their sun shields removed in the past and replaced all the nuts and junk...I was hoping that Land Rover thought about this and spot welded something in place, because I am not going to mess with a perfectly intact 40 year old liner. But dont ask me how my paint man is going to spray up into the void and make it look decent. A real lousy predicament if I do say so!:(

Hi, IMHS,

The guys in the series section of the forum will have the answers you are looking for.
I think old landys are best left alone and not even restored, so I agree that you wouldn't want to mess with a good 40 year old liner.
