Uprating the original head unit in my Disco 2 and can I fook get it out. It's the one with only one circular hole on either side of the fascia. Can't fins pullers anywhere and even tried coat hangars! Anyone help??

You won't find 'pullers' as such only a release tool some do have hook which will soon bend, so once you have release the clips on each side u need to grab hold head unit and pull hard, original head units are always hard to remove the first time because of the rubber retainer that's at the rear of the unit.
Early head units that had a tape slot were easy as u could get a grip on them.

Cheers for reply. So it isn't locked in I just need a good purchase on it to pull out?

The back of the radio has a long M6 threaded stud sticking out that pushes into a rubber bush as Pete says above.

It can be very tight to pull out, but make sure the latches are disengaged properly before you pull too hard.

Deep inside those two holes is an allen key bolt. About 4mm i think. Turn it to wind in the lugs that hold the radio in. I only found out when I mullered my original head unit to get it out! I thought those holes were to accept something to push in to release it, as is common with head units... I was wrong!

I have a similar issue with my cassette player, sodding thing wont come out no matter what I do. If I get a hold of the cassette hole it just rips the front off. I am seriously considering dynamite.....

Maybe some git bonded it in like I did on my sons vauxhall as he had lost the cage and he put the old radio back in as we were part exchanging it

Hate to be the poor bugger that try's to remove that :D

The head units with the single holes either end are a 2.5mm allen key. Unscrew to release internal clips, then tug from cassette aperture with other end of the key to release the threaded rod from the plastic clip mounted at back of dashboard.
