I've searched the forums and found that the easiest way to take the rear bumper off is to remove the bumper lights and then access the side facing bolts in the aperture.

BUT.... How do i remove the bumper lights??

Cheers

remove the bumper light bulb holder.....just a twist...clockwise if you are standing at the rear of the bumper

then undo the 2 8mm nuts retaining the units to the bumper

Although both of these may be easier said than done if it is a long time since they have been removed (if ever).

Be prepared for the bulb holders to be very stiff and difficult to move. The nuts may be corroded on to the studs, which may just come out when you turn the nut, or the nut may round off.

Just going to do this job myself so saved me asking, got to put a tow bar on......

Hope mine comeout eays:smash:

ok i managed to get mine off. Taking off the lights was a failure, as well as removing the bolts that are visible at the rear of the bumper.

Pair of mole grips up between the bumper and the chassis. move it around till it hits something, then feed that somthing into its grasp. clamp on, undo bolts underneath. Fidgety as hell, but it beats rounding off nuts and dismantling bumper etc

Also another way that i got a bolt out with..... i used one of the supporting arms to lever the tow bar assembly down, causing more pressure on the none visible nut, and the bolt came out with relative ease.

hope it helps!
