Hi all.

I want to remove/disable my PSI powerbox. It came with the Rangie and it's one of the first models, that taps into the MAP sensor pipe.
Unfortunately I cannot find the fitting schematics anywhere so I'm in need of some help. What I would like to do is to just disconnect the power wire, probably inside the box, just to run with it disabled for a while.

Does anyone have any schematics for these boxes ?

Thanks in advance,
Manuel

You can't "just disconnect the power wire". The power box intercepts the loom to the FIP or at least it does on mine.

On my PSI Powerbox there is a "floating" black wire (although documentation calls it a grey wire!) which can be earthed it then apparently switches the PSI Powerbox off.
Never tried it but have run the car without the box and its pants.

Datatek,
On mine it seems that it is connected to the wires but is not intercepting them, much like the hot start fix that splices some cables together. (I say seems because it looks like such a bad job that I'm afraid to go near it).

Grange,
Do you have that documentation available, can you send it to me by mail?

I read the FAQ section...so here goes.

Hope this helps.

Grange Rover,
Thanks for you trouble! Altough it looks like those instructions are for a more recent version (mine has a T that intersects the tube for the MAP).
I'm still going to open it and look for the grey wire as that would achieve what I'm after.

Thanks once again :)
