Hi All,
Ive been through as many threads as I can read in one day and can't seem to find the answer, so here goes!
Im replacing the whole Interior on my 1990 110 county with XS trim but dont want the two three man bench seats, so instead im looking at two single inward facing seats directly behind the second row, now, there's a long anchor bar both sides bolted onto the wheel arch and the body ends with the lap belts bolted on them, not seen them for sale anywhere so guessing they came as standard? can I remove these and still install the fold down seats mentioned, making new anchor points for the belts using spreader plates or do i need to have belts on these seats as some posts say you dont need belts in the back? but then why does it have them fitted already? and if I do fit them myself do they require testing?
any advice would be great thanks :)

If they are side facing seats you don't need seat belts. Why not fit the two man bench seats either side? They flip up out of the way and are easy to fit....ive just done it to mine.

Hi Milky, I need more space in the back for camping and fishing trips, I would like to fit a fridge and a pair of 10" subs on the wheel arches with a cooker on the back door so only want two seats, the seat belt anchor rail takes up a lot of space on the wheel arches to so they will have to come out. The insurance company said 7 seats would be cheaper and less risk in a crash, dependes what you crash into i guess! Theres a lot of negative's with bench seats and so it just made sense to ditch them.

yes you can fit em, the bench seat seat belt bars normally go for 30-40 quid on ebay, seat belts on side facing seats are a bone of contention, many reports say they can cause more damage so your call, they aren't legally required

cheers steve

Thanks Steve,
I think I will fit the singles and leave the belts off, they won't be used as everyday seats but handy if needed. The kids will be on the middle row and never in the back.

I would try to retro fit some folding removable seats in there so i had the option of space...

I didn't think of that, will give them a call and find out, I'm in the process of getting the rear lined in Checker plate and will then fit the two inward facing seats, if I can figure out how to i will upload some pics at some point :)
