I have also deativated the ACE sistem but instead of reprogramming just covered up the control light in dash with a little black isolating tape (ok, get the dash out and you can leaver the display and stick it to the underside). Why would you need the lamp-check routine on turning the car on if you don´t have that feature anyway.
I`ve also not used a pulley but a shorter PoliV Belt 7PK 1549 works fine!!
 
well tried disconnecting the ACE ECU, but amber W/L came on, so
no it don't work.

reconnected it and all fine, no isssues or fault codes
 
Did anyone step up to help reset without having to pay the stealer or a local bod? Im in need of a similar operation but no electronic tools as yet!
 
you can put ace light out by piggy backing live feed from one wire to another at the ecu connector pin 36 iirc, sierrafery can say which pins as he told me

you can see the ACE ECU plug pin disposals in the attachment, unplug the ECU and bridge pins 11 - 36 ...that's all,

Is that to bypass ACE? My car does not have ACE, the warning light I have is for the back end, airbags replaced with coils by previous owner but warning light still on dash, think its the SLS light?
 
So ive got the same warning light on too.Always amber so is it down to rear air bags being removed or is it because ace has been removed or in my case ACE reservoir empty.
When i brought the car they said air bags but i was off put when i saw it was called the ACE warning light
 
if it's the ACE warning(two curved arrows pointing down, one each side) you can override it like i said above, if it's SLS (two straight arrows at the same side, one up , one down) it's doable too but this old and "revived" thread is not the place for that;)

I just wanted know why its on sierra?
 
so you say you have ACE fitted and the warning is on??? forgive me but being in "removed ACE" thread i misundesrstood... so if you have ACE and the warning is on you need to hook to a tester to read the fault code cos there could be many reasons

well i arent really sure if it is fitted due to there is nothing in the reservoir but i wanted to clear up its nothing to do with rear air bags being removed

ace is a totally separate system to air suspension ,you can see whats left of ace by looking at the roll bars and chassis rail, under drivers seat

I might be missing something here but I have def. got amber SLS light on, one arrow up and one down. Where can i find a solution? Im new to the site and also not too clever with computers!
 
then open a new thread with proper title for your specific problem and explain with details what's going on to avoid further questions, e.g do you actually have SLS or it's on coils and you want to get rid of the warning, if you have SLS is it working normally or not?...what year is your D2, any other relevant info...do that and i'll try to help you there
 
Check for voltage across pin 11 and ground and if you have voltage and it's bridged to pin 36 but the warning is still on the wire between pin 36 and the light is interrupted. If no voltage at pin 11 that circuit is broken somewhere. The gist is that the light must get 12V from pin 36 to go out

I hope you don't mind. I have updated your drawing so other can avoid any confusion on exactly what is required here and included some reference images from the LR Wiring Descriptions.

I have been working my way through the 3 Amigos issues on 2 Discovery 2's. So one is now complete thanks to your post.

The mistake I made, was to disconnect the wires and not just make the bridge.
