What's the best way to remove the canvas hooks that are on the side rails.
A friend needs to fit lockable tree sliders so the canvas hooks need to be removed first.
I don't have any pictures but they seem to have 3 spot welds, do you drill these out?

On mine they appear to be riveted. Easy to drill out

These don't appear to be rivoted as we can't see a head, it's smooth, think it could be spot welded.

Yes, spot welded. Just be careful not to drill through.

Don't drill a spot weld, grind it off!

In the old days they were fitted to every tub so were spot-welded into place. Later on they were only fitted to vehicles which required them so were pop-riveted on.
