Yeah! I hope he sells loads of them. Is a great little gizmo and fixes the issue a lot cheaper than the LR alternative.
I am glad I got mine.

Yes, myself and a mate/fellow P38 owner, Nick have developed these - so far about 60 of them are out and about in P38's around the world.

You can also get them direct from the website: www.p38webshop.co.uk They are the same price, but the only difference is that we don't get charged £8.50 in eBay fees aswell... ;)

So far the response from them seems to be pretty good any they do what they are supposed to! Which is always good :D

@martyuk
Does it work with any generation of receiver or just the latest gen 3?:D

It will work on any generation, and is designed for use ideally with the first/second generation receiver - as it does the same job as the 3rd gen receiver by filtering out everything BUT a P38 keyfob. We have just managed to find a way to do that and package it up as a plug-and-play inline device to the original receivers, without the LR price tag.

As it plugs in between the BECM and receiver, so the data from the fob has already been received, it will also work on both 315 and 433mhz vehicles - as it's looking at the data stream from the receiver, rather than the actual radio transmission.

Sadly not from this specific one... as it is programmed to just recognise P38 key fobs and only then pass the encoded data stream on to the BECM for it to check if the code is valid for that particular vehicle.

That being said, if there are other vehicles that suffer battery drain due to RF, then it could be possible for us to make a version that works specifically for them - but part of the issue with making this (and why it took so long) was down to trying to find a way that we could filter out JUST p38 keys, and then once that was found, finding a way of coding a microcontroller to do it, but quick enough to not have any noticeable delay between pressing the button. We were unable to even reverse engineer the Gen 3 LR recevier as obviously it's all locked down, and there's no information out there about how they do it! So we had to engineer something from scratch.

So whilst it might be possible to do something similar for other vehicles, it would take a bit of time to work out ways of filtering their remote fobs out from everything else as this device has been researched, coded and made specifically for the P38 and their key fobs :)

Hi there can you tell me if it will increase the range that I have at present about ten inches any further and the key will not respond

It will not increase the range, but reconnecting the aerial to the RF receiver will, I expect it has been disconnected to limit interference. The filter will deal with the interference.

I think you have both done an amazing job and plenty of the 38' drivers out there will be much happier not to have to charge and some of them have to re-input the EKA. Hats off to you :cool:;)

Thanks - much appreciated! It took a lot of work to figure out how to do it, and get it coded properly, but it's also just nice to be able to have an alternative to the LR version at their silly prices!

Your more than welcome, do you advertise through any other landy site's?
