Hey Guys
The Freelander central locking seems to generate a lot of posts, but I cant seem to find one that covers my issue :-(
She's a 2002 Freelander 1 LGV (3 door). The key works fine to lock/unlock the doors but the replacement remote fob I got doesnt. I had it programmed at a garage, and they can see the fob working, but the computer they attached says it has reprogrammed the system but something isnt quite right.... which turns out to be, it doesnt work...
I've replaced the sensor (3 times from ebay resellers) under the dash cowl and I've checked and seen the sensor seems to be getting power. But where do I go next?
I read somewhere the EMU may need to be replaced, but that sounds a bit major.. It is that bad/expensive or is there a third party remote just for the door locking/unlocking that may work?
It's been a while since I really dug into car maintenance (before they had computers), so I dont want to cause the doors not to lock/unlock at all or the engine not to start...
Any ideas/pointers appreciated.
Ian
